Having all the relevant facts does matter. If you only have a portion of the facts, it can paint a different picture from the truth regarding a particular situation.
Contextualizing facts matters and is related to having all the relevant facts.
The problem is that the differences many people have concluded in their own mind come from their interpretation of the facts. Sometimes that interpretation is clouded because not all the facts are considered or known or the context not understood.
Nietzsche hit on this issue when he said “There are no facts, only interpretations.”
Regarding the twitter link, I think the problem is that we are all still too tribalistic, which can bias our interpretations. Tribalism exists in so much of our life because we are part of various groups: communities, families, religion, employer, Lakers fan, U of U alum, professional degree and licensing, etc.
