I have to admit I was surprised by Governor Cox's letter to President Biden suggesting that the Afghan refugees come to Utah, but then I remembered the humanitarian statement recently made by the LDS Church on welcoming refugees.

Most Republican governors would have taken a "not in my backyard approach".

Maybe TSSC sees this as a way to gain some potential membership, fresh meat right here behind the zion curtain, cheaper place to do missionary work. I can see tithing bean counters figuring this out and doing their powerpoint to the COBlers. "Hey, maybe we just bring the non-members here and proselytize them, much cheaper and safer than sending all those kids out to the far away unstable places."

You guys need to re-read the article- the LDS church is doing nothing, it is a Catholic charities organization that is doing it all. I have Catholics in my family and they are posting all kinds of things the Catholics are doing.

Mormons do no real charity work, they leave missionaries to be killed by TX chainsaws, remember? It is the Catholics who are currently doing the most to get Christians out of Afghanistan.
