Beer vs Diet Coke
I have this ongoing debate with true believers that one beer is better for you than that 32 oz diet coke.
I have no proof, but sure seems like a logical argument to me.

Hmmm....
I think you're right! Can you post labels for comparison purposes to back up your claim?
Actually just found this article:

As you can see, there are many sides to consider when choosing a beer versus a diet coke. A good rule of thumb is to drink both in moderation.

How is this logic that you mention working with true believers?1smartdodog wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 5:49 pm I have no proof, but sure seems like a logical argument to me.

The WoW recommends drinking beer. Says nothing about drinking Diet Coke.

Did you know that the British drink beer that warms their bellies, while most diet colas are served chilled? Heavenly insight.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

The WoW was my first big rabbit hole issue, and when I finally allowed myself to think about it I was surprised to find out that it does actually recommend beer. It also says to use wine for the sacrament. TSCC's ability to simply avoid clear scripture from God Almighty is fascinating.

I use that one all the time. They just have a stupor of thought, like their brain wont register it.2bizE wrote:The WoW recommends drinking beer. Says nothing about drinking Diet Coke.

I have had people tell me it's talking about Postum. But A) Postum wasn't invented for another 50 years*, and B) Postum would have been considered a hot drink by contemporary readers. In the context in which it was given, the Word of Wisdom could only have been talking about beer. It seems to me that "mild" and "strong" are used to differentiate between fermented and distilled, unless specifically broken out as another category (e.g. wine).1smartdodog wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 8:46 amI use that one all the time. Dammit. I was hoping beyond hope that your logical argument had broken through with at least one believer.1smartdodog wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 8:48 amLogic never works when feelings and obedience are involved.wtfluff wrote:How is this logic that you mention working with true believers?1smartdodog wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 5:49 pm I have no proof, but sure seems like a logical argument to me.

I have a friend who totally rails against people who drink any kind of alcohol, Especially beer for some reason. He says beer is bad for you and it's Addictive. All while visiting a Convenience store atleast 4 to 5 times a day to get a 32oz diet dr pepper because if he goes more than an hour without consuming soda he'll get a massive headache from caffeine withdrawal. Go figure.1smartdodog wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 5:49 pm I have this ongoing debate with true believers that one beer is better for you than that 32 oz diet coke.
