Witness film. Got your tickets?

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Battlefield Earth, then?

Say no more. I got you covered on that one.... we can mix some Jenny Kush and some Matanuska Thunder F*uck together and you can hit that. You'll get through it just fine.

The thing that keeps bothering me about the trailer for this film is the way it uses the tired old trope that people weren't kind to early Mormons merely because they are evil servants Satan trying to impede the work. It plays to that built-in sense of persecution that Mormons relish so much.

Here's the weekend box office take for Witnesses, rounded to the nearest thousand, compared to A Quiet Place 2, which was the weekend box office leader:

Witnesses:
Friday: $73,000 Saturday: $55,000 Sunday: $7,000 (any guesses who's attending this film?)

A Quiet Place:
Friday: $6,250,000 Saturday: $7,772,000 Sunday: $5,245,000

That's probably not too bad, considering the narrow audience. They're probably going to make most of their money at Christmas from DVDs given by Grandma as stocking stuffers.
