You can find the Book of Mormon location wherever you care to look for it. Here's a map of the Malaysian version:

This guy finds all kinds of parallels in the local history, including things like a spiritual leader with a name very similar to Lehi who arrived in a boat from far away.

Or how about this. All you have to do is claim there was once a land bridge between the two islands (certainly not as much of a stretch as some BoM claims). Best of all, it also turns out to also be the location of Middle Earth:
