Covid-19 and The Devil...
This so-called pandemic has affected churches worldwide. The LDS Church has largely depended on gatherings to influence, exhort and indoctrinate members via meetings and via general conferences. What now? Did Satan finally find a way to destabilize entire churches by hitting where it hurts? Gatherings? Did covid make members go inactive by default? Did any prophet, seer or revelator actually see this coming. It's a big deal. It should have been prophesied about, no? Google says workers will work from home clear into July 2021. Same goes for the LDS CHurch? No meetings, firesides, devotionals, etc until middle of next year? Who would ever guess - since nobody prophesies anything these days - that a virus, supposedly brewed in China, would take down churches big and small? Of course, this ain't over yet. More to come Fall and Winter, I am sure. But I never thought that Satan could use viruses as an effective tool. Forget the apple. The whispering in the ear...Looks like some viral buffetings is doing the trick in shaking up the entire kingdom on earth. What and where are the MODERN-DAY prophecies and advice on this other than "hang on, this will pass" which any person can guess? Does anyone even hear any supplications to God to end this pandemic? All I see is stupid riots. In the past, people would gather and pray for a pestilence or plague to be taken away. Today, they hope a vaccine will solve the problem. Yeah, right. Looks like we need some divine guidance here. Where is Nelson in all this?
Re: Covid-19 and The Devil...
Hopefully both satan and President Nelson are home safely quarantined. At 90 something years old he can’t afford to get sick. Satan, well he can’t afford to get sick either because the whole plan of salvation goes out the window if he dies.
Some TBM’s think Nelson did prophesy with his push for home church. Yet many members I know can’t wait to get back to the chapel.
Maybe God is also in quarantine? Or perhaps we just need to set down our phones and turn back towards humanity and tolerance instead of hate.
Another six months to a year and people will be re-evaluating their testimonies.
Who knows? Satan may not even come back from this one. Until then, be kind, ear a mask, and wash your hands after going #2!

Wait, I thought things like this were acts of God.

Not much President Nelson can do since you cannot pray away the virus. Church Authorities have even had to curtail their usual summer vacation visits to Temples around the world.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.
