Re: Still time to sign up for the FairMormon conference
That does sound puzzling. Wonder if it has something to do with trusting the Mormon collective unconscious rather than objective reality?
Or perhaps the presenter will be selling one of those sleep tapes in the conference foyer that plays the subliminal message "The Book of Abraham is True". You can listen to it all night long with a tiny pillow speaker beneath your head.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

This reads like the headlines for the onion.
Why LDS Teens Benefit From a Few Moments Alone With Their Bishop?
Holy crap how stupid this sounds!
As for the last one? Maybe it’s a pillow reference?
Fair Mormon is a total joke.

Oh my Gods its going to be a clusterf$%k of a train wreck.

Dove tailing quite horrificly with the "bishops should be alone with teens" is "Helen Mar Kimball’s Polygamy Story"
Mormorrisey's buddy Susan Easton Black is gonna tell us all about Emma Smith.
And the icing on the dog food cake is a really, really white guy Ryan W. Saltzgiver whose gonna tell us all about Race and the 1978 revelation.
It's like its satire, but it's not.

I’m pretty sure it means how to trick your mind into believing it is somehow real.

As the saying goes, "Never look a gift tapir in the mouth" or was that "Beware of apologists giving tapirs?"
Someone at FAIRMormon must have a sense of humor to place the Helen Mar Kimball’s Polygamy Story and Private Bishop Interviews as Protective Factor: Why LDS Teens Benefit From a Few Moments Alone With Their Bishop back to back.

I grew up with him!! He was not alive at the time of the 1978 revelation, you'd think they could find someone who was there and had a better feel for the cultural situation at the time. And I don't know where he picked up the "W."

He probably needs it to distinguish himself from all the other Ryan Saltzgivers out there. I'm sure it has nothing to do with pretense or climbing the church ladder.
