What a presentist sketch that was about Brigham Young. Are you telling me they went out into the desert in their church clothes? Eeesh.

I feel like I read that the initial 1847 wagon trek was not "arduous" at all and was more like an extended camping trip. But that doesn't make a good story.

Also didn't the Church itself debunk the "this is the place" story? Did I imagine that?

Are they going to trot out the elevator shaft story next?

I didn't notice the change until the Come Follow Me racism fiasco. But if you look at the most racist pictures in an old print and compare them to the digital versions, the text has changed to be slightly less racist. I can find examples later.

I was thinking this too.

Anyone know for sure?

He would have been more accurate if he had said divining rod instead of cane.

Interesting talk. The temple was built to last forever... but we gotta upgrade it.

They were so inspired when the temple was first built they left room for elevators... but no one imagined the seismic stuff.

Weird.

Wasn't it part of the old sandstone foundation story that BY wanted the foundation rebuilt on granite so that it would last until and through the milennium? I thought I remember being told that the foundation was explicitly revealed to survive earthquakes.

I guess that wasn't true either...

I find it kind of weird how he's sort of apologizing for the SLC temple being closed, because it needed upgrades...

Right now, ALL the temples are closed. Why not make a faith promoting parable out of THAT?

"working through personal offenses with doctrine or church leaders."

Forget it, Stevens. I already worked through it and I think you need to stop being offensive.

But according to Joy Jones, isn't that YOUR fault for not knowing this? Study your scriptures, and your seismic history.
