The church got out of the BSA for financial and legal reasons, who is he kidding??? And they didn't leave a 'church'... a real estate corporation left the BSA due to primarily financial concerns and potential future litigation.

They are likely still liable for a LOT legally. GAs were on the board of BSA when all the various s*** went down, so those people can they can still be held liable.

I agree with Ballard. The BSA was moving away from the church. For example:
BSA: required background checks
LDS Church: meh
BSA: 2 deep leadership
LDS Church: 1:1 sexual interviews with kids
BSA: 4-6 hour training on sexual abuse
LDS Church: 13 minute cartoon video

I think what Ballard may have meant was that the BSA decided to no longer exclude gay scouts, which inflamed the Brethren's feelings.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.
