I hope someone who has to attend (for whatever reason), or who is willing to watch in behalf of others, will start/participate in a thread about gen conf as in previous times. I don't think I'll have the ability to watch, but would be interested in anything out of the ordinary, should such a thing happen. (You know those Vitamin revelations that are going to be taking our breath away. Maybe they'll continue this October.)

The institutional LDS church has an astonishingly large and organized opposition. If I were to spend this coming weekend watching nothing from the internet I could tune in on Monday morning and quickly get up to speed on the dumbest things that got stated by prophets, seers, and revelators.
I rather think that the big stories are already out there with Nelson's 5 Points of Truth and how women have been promoted from "towel dispenser" to "passive witness". Besides a few new temple locations, it will be Sunday School rehash and we will all be pressured to proclaim how brilliant it is.

You're absolutely right on the first count. I didn't think of that, but you'd have to be in a coma to not know something.
And, you're probably right on the second count, too.
