Sitting in sacrament meeting is like...

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Went to church today. Speakers were pretty good. The wife spoke of her pre-marital escapades before meeting her husband, repenting, seeing the eternal light at the end of the tunnel and changing her ways. Wish I had popcorn. Some members were a bit queezy in their seats listening to such terrible behavior, which half of them probably did as well but they just want to hide it.

Yeeeahhh.....some things are better left unsaid....

Is it really a matter of wanting to hide it or is it a matter of the good that comes from publicly airing old, personal laundry?

Unless there is a possible danger by not knowing someone's past (child molester) I think I prefer to take someone as they presently are. Good or bad.

Watching the same boring documentary over and over.

Skipped church today with the whole fam!! Was amazing. Didn’t miss a thing, I’m sure.

I think my biggest problem with sacrament and other church meetings is they add zero to my spiritual needs. Not only are they boring, but I feel they are usually irrelevant because I do not benefit from them. It is like watching the same rerun of the Lawrence Welk Show every single week. Is it wrong after fifty years of the same rerun to say this isn’t working for me?

...going to a theme park with many amazing rides. Knowing that the best rides are all around you, but you are stuck on the same boring BENCH of a merry-go-round. BE IN THE PARK, NOT OF THE PARK.

YES! It isn't about being entertained. It's about (((obedience))).

At least with Lawrence Welk, you could always look forward to the bubbles. Haha.
