Earlier today I had a talk with the longsuffering wife of a former BP and SP of mine.
And she asked me if DW and I were intimate.
Well ofcourse we are, we are married, human and occasionally horny. Even if not at the Same time.
We make it work.
So she, a marital therapist aged 62 said: my husband hasn't gone into me in 28 years.
The last Time I kissed a man passionately was 19 years ago. (It was a slipup with me, back then a housefriend of her eldest)
Poor sweet lady, poor thing.
And to be honest, it keeps me awake now.
DW said, she desperately needs some sexual education, and to get laid as well.

Intimacy, what intimacy

I've got that beat! I haven't had sex in 42 years! (I'm only 42).
This is sad to me. There has to be more problems in the marriage than that. Or could it really just be bad sex education?

A marital therapist does not recognize that her husband either has a sexual dysfunction, or possibly is gay or maybe asexual?
That behavior is definitely not normal for a church leader, regardless of the calling. Most Mormons I know love sex. Some might be a bit inhibited due to all the chastity rhetoric, but still, something is wrong here.
This sounds like the type of situation where a good sex therapist might help.

So sorry Achilles. You have been very candid here. Intimacy sometimes overlaps sex. I am lucky to have a fair amount of both with DW, even though I could always take moreachilles wrote:I've got that beat! I haven't had sex in 42 years! (I'm only 42).

One of the worst consequences of the heteronormative culture and dogma in religion is how they have destroyed both for the LGBTQ communities.

LOL! For some reason this struck me as really funny, because it describes DW and me as well. Sorry to hear about your friend - even marital therapists evidently don't have all the answers for themselves.Meilingkie wrote:Well ofcourse we are, we are married, human and occasionally horny. We were doing kettle-ball exercises at the gym I attend. Part of the exercise involves holding the weight with both hands just below the waist and performing a "pelvic thrust" movement to get the weight swinging.
The instructor said he can tell which of the guys are married and which are single by their ability get the weight swinging.
I did not perform the exercise very well.
