A win for satan!
I am so freaking happy today! We are still semi- active, attending once a month or less...
My daughter is on the middle school academic team (competes in the state academic bowl). Her team was practicing yesterday and one of the questions was "Who founded the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints?" And get this: she DIDN'T know the answer!!!!
All my years of faithful attendance in primary and YW and perfect attendance for early morning seminary and my own daughter doesn't know who founded the church. I am elated to know she will not be following in my footsteps.
She also confided to me that she is not sure she wants to stay with the church anymore anyway due to her changing perspective. This is going to require some delicate discussions with my TBM/NOMish DH though...

That's awesome! Parenting win!!
I don't think my kid would know the answer to that either.
My middle-school-TBM-a$$ would have been like "Jesus Christ founded to Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints."

Wait, Jesus Christ isn’t the answer?

I love this.

Oh wow, that is awesome! Congrats on the big steps toward freeing your family.
Haha, that's what I thought too. Everyone knows that the right answer is Joseph Smith, but the RIGHT answer is Jesus Christ.

CrossMyHeart,
It’s a bit nerve wracking parenting in a cult - especially in an inter-faith marriage. But it’s hopeful when you see glimpses of your children actually thinking for themselves as your daughter has.
Most anthropologists believe Jesus wasn’t Mormon. He drank wine, was unshaven and dark skinned.

I remember when something similar to this happened with one of my kids when I was right in the middle of awakening to the truth about LD$-Inc. At that point, it was a bit like a gut-punch.
