The hate is back

Post by Meilingkie »

Thought the angry-phase had gone.
Thought, please note my use of the past-tense.
Thought I’d heard it all.
Thought the Church could not sink any lower in my esteem.

This weekend I found out it could.
Talking to my new GF, about her mission-experience.
She had a mission-president who deserves a wreath of nettles instead of flowers when he passes away.

So you are called serve, you go to Japan.
Happy to serve, but worried about home.
Your mom’s ill, gravely ill.
Needs a liver-transplant and a kidney-transplant.

Christmas approaches, you can make a call.
Probably the last one, ever.
You sense time’s running out.
You ask the MP if you can call on December 25th Japan-time.
He says no, so you obey.
You finally make the call on December 25th, Houston-time.
When it’s also Christmas at the receiving end.

First thing on Christmas-morning you dial for home.
And find mom passed away on Christmas-day 0300 hrs Houston-time.
Just 3 hours before.
And attending the funeral, forget about that girl.
The Lord wants you to serve.

It’s been 16 years, but still, I couldn’t help but weep and become angry beyond belief.
The hate is back, with a vengeance.

Oh, hell no!! That makes me want to swear. I'm so, so sorry. That is just so $$$$ed up!

I keep thinking the angry part is gone, but then something brings it back and it stays for months.

Wow... that is vile.

This church has a way of bringing the anger and pain back, doesn't it?

I initially really thought this was just.......
You can’t make this up, or so I thought. You get what I am getting at.

Sunday I had lunch with her sister&kids and my daughter. They lives near my office.
She confirmed it.
Makes me want to firebomb the place.

My mom said exactly that after I told her.
Churches and priests need to burn.....

It so amazingly tone deaf how mission presidents will often handle these situations. I did know one missionary in my mission in Canada who was in a similar situation. His mother was diagnosed with cancer and had only weeks to live so this young elder called the mission president. I have a lot of respect for my mission president who ordered him to fly home immediately and spend two weeks with his dying mother. The missionary was then welcomed back to finish out his mission after that and I am always grateful for the human kindness of my mission president. It is beyond tragic that your friend had such a Pharisaical mission president who thought that his approach was a good idea.

Why the hell are you discussing Mormonism with your new GF?

Shouldn't you be having lots of unprotected, unbridled, and extremely immoral sexual relations between episodes of binging on Cocaine, Cold Pizza, and Netflix??

Isn't that what Apostates do when they leave the church?

She’s not apostate yet........
She’s processing the facts, and getting to grips with growing up in a high-pressure religious group. Letting go takes some time.

But Red Ryder, we expect when we actually meet and go to Germany together we won’t stay chaste for long.

No need to confess. We're not your Bishop!

So you've never met in person? Just online?

What if you meet in Germany and your making out and right in the heat of the moment she stops, pulls off her mask, and sitting their with you is Elder Uchtdorf in disguise??

He then arrests you in the name of Jesus Christ for sins of omission, masturbation, apostasy, and attempted fornication!

That would be an unexpected ending, no?

Nah, he can then have Uchtdorf arrested excommunicated for this homosexual acts. Or hold his "small" pension for blackmail purposes.
