A friend of ours that used to be in our ward had a daughter that was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on her mission about a year ago. She was quickly fitted with an insulin pump and sent back out. Upon returning home, her doctors have declared that her pancreas is functioning normally and she has been taken off the pump. This is being touted as a miracle by the family, and being posted all over Facebook in our circles.
I understand this could be part of what's called the honeymoon period for type 1 diabetes. TBM sister and pediatrician weighed in that it is miraculous and she has never seen a honeymoon period last as long as a year.
Some research revealed that the honeymoon period can last for up to two years, but that is quite rare. (She has never seen it)

For her sake I hope it is a miracle but I guarantee that if, God forbid, the diabetes returns Facebook will not fill up with "oops, never mind, we were wrong." If anything it will just change categories from a miracle to a blessing in disguise, or possible a test.

I know a young man who became a type 1 diabetic at the age of 13. Strong LDS family. He served a faithful 2 year mission at 18 and is still a 100% committed believer. He still had diabetes when he came home and still has it today. Where is his miracle?

The church has engineered your eternal family into a commodity that can be purchased with an annual fee. The fact that full tithing payment is a requirement for saving ordinances is the biggest red flag imaginable. Hagoth

Did she lose a great deal of weight during this time?
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

yes, exactly - the whole notion of also having faith not to be healed is mind boggling to me.
I believe she did loose weight but not a lot.
