This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.
From the stuff I read about him on FB, (mostly from post mos) he's a good guy. He taught at BYU and BYU-H and his former students, even though they have left the church, have noting but good things to say about him.

Can I order my coffee maker yet?
I suspect that if this change was made, it would be made quietly. For example, converts would be allowed to be baptized while still drinking coffee and tea, then it might slip off the temple recommend questions somehow (perhaps bishops and stake presidents would be told not to withhold recommends for drinking them).
It has to be craftily changed, I think, to avoid mass shock among the typical true believer.
There are 2 Gods. One who created us. The other you created. The God you made up is just like you-thrives on flattery-makes you live in fear.
Believe in the God who created us. And the God you created should be abolished.

So by the church's timeline, if we ordained women right this very minute, we would expect to see the first female Seventy around the year 2060.
Wow that is sad.

So Eyring threatened members with "sorrow to you and to those you love and even losses beyond your power to imagine" if you don't keep some unnamed promise automatically made while sustaining "servants" of God?

It might even be quietly put into the Bishops Handbook and not revealed until Mormon Leaks got ahold of it. Later, one of the Brethren would reveal that it was part of President Nelson's late-night revelations when he would send Wendy from the bedroom for better revelatory reception.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.
