It's hard to shake a century of needing to be related to general authorities to get ahead. I'll bet that being related to right Young, Taylor, Woodruff, or Snow during the 1800s was just the boost that someone needed when starting a business or buying land. Or getting that next attractive wife. It's a distinct part of the culture today.

Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.
