New SP Wants to Meet

Post by Thoughtful »

Thankfully tomorrow we are out of town. But I never want to meet with him.

Because

Church isnt true, so I owe him no explanation.

I suppose there are some LDS leaders that would actually be supportive of following truth even if it leads out of the LDS church. Some of the nicer stories have come out. But I certainly appreciate standing firm for your own principled reasons. So few interactions with leaders end well. It's far too common that leaders have no good answers and return to an orthodox message in the face of difficult questions. Even if you were in the position where you wanted to meet with a leader, it tends to turn out emotionally unsatisfying.

I feel you and get it. Personally I have kind of enjoyed the complete confusion when I relate my Mormon pedigree and then explain that i don't believe any of the BS, and no I don't want to participate. The confusion is pretty funny.

I wish wish wish I was no longer pretending and could just ignore these kinds of summons. It felt like a million years away today. Glad you didn’t go.

I feel like I’m making tiny rebellions. Every time the clerk asks me if I’m coming “today” for tithing settlement I just change the subject.
