If God really mattered to God that everyone believe...

Post by Hagoth »

Interesting insight from Mrs. Hagoth this morning: "If it really mattered to God that everyone believes in Mormonism wouldn't he have arranged for multiple Joseph Smiths to show up all over the globe telling the same story?"

Nay. All shall be redeemed through vicarious work during the millennium. Thus saith the apologist.
I was once a cafeteria Mormon on a hunger strike. Have since found a buffet elsewhere.

This is why I think Biblical Christianity has a much better chance at "impacting" the world than Mormonism. It won't be perfect Christianity and it won't reach absolutely everyone but that's where God's Grace will enter the picture. Things will be made fair.

Mormons would need another 1000 years and a lot more truth hiding to even get close to making a global difference. They may call themselves a "Worldwide church" but that's a little like living in San Diego and going to Tijuana and considering yourself a world traveler.

Right now the "stone cut out of the mountain without hands" is crushing them.
"There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily."

"Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light."

I think they're trying to be a worldwide builder of temples, using the temples as billboards to advertise that they should be considered a worldwide church. Even if there aren't enough members to justify it, sparlking temples scattered all over the globe suggest that the Kingdom of God has conquered every clime. In the meantime, "Let's Go Shopping!"

If you want accuracy and consistency why bother with prophets? Why introduce a middle man? Why not just speak directly to each of your children in a way that you know they'll understand so that each and every one comes away with the same understanding? You have a being that is capable of the most perfect communication possible between god and man and he chooses to play telephone?

Or why not just carve "I am God, and I love all of you" on the face of the Matterhorn.
