Holy cow

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Holy cow

I'm in FTS. Someone just bragged about spending 60 hours/week on the temple. Good times!

For so many TBMs it's all about doing more than anyone else, but that's just insanity. That's more than a full time job.

I guess it's no different than a missionary though, which is probably how they view themselves.

That's some quality guilt distilled upon the souls of your local congregation by one of the "great families" in your ward. Like a toxic red rain from the COB's Chernobyl. The matrix in your sector looks to be running at near full capacity.

What a waste of time. My parents are temple workers right now, it's very important to them. Like more important than a lot of other things, that used to be important to them. There must be some pretty good "training" about the priorities of temple service.

I give thanks that this used to be a possible retirement option for me.

I cannot imagine that hell would be any worse than that.
Well, I'm better than dirt! Ah, well... most kinds of dirt; not that fancy store-bought dirt; that stuff is loaded with nutrients. I can't compete with that stuff. -Moe Sizlack

Do you have any idea what this person's options for those 60 hours/week might be otherwise? It probably beats hanging around the River City Billiards Parlor day in or day out, or even going to Ethel's Beauty Parlor for the latest gossip. Would that person be interested in a barbershop quartet?
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.
