This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

I guess all the TBMs with "I'm a Mormon, I live it, I love it" picture on their profile will need to delete that or face apostasy now.
And scrape the vinyl decal off their family room wall.

Jesus: "The Kingdom of God is within you." The Buddha: "Be your own light."
What's funny is by ratcheting up the whole 'nicknames are evil!" rhetoric it puts previous comments and campaigns into an interesting position. If being called Mormon is a victory for Satan then Christ's supposed church engaged in a major media campaign for and in behalf of Satan. You also have previous conference talks like this: https://www.lds.org/general-conference/ ... d?lang=eng
In short, if being called Mormon is evil the church and it's highest leaders were actively engaged in that evil. So the more harrowing you try to paint being called Mormon the larger the caliber gun you are using to shoot yourself in the foot.
It's nearly impossible to point out the absurdity of this. Last night when family got together for game night they all started to go goo goo over the prophet and the nick names bit. I simply asked why if this was such a big revelatory deal, why had Monson and Hinckley not pushed for it.
The reply was, "They did! don't you remember when...."
I'm going to go stick my head in the sand now!

That's interesting, because it annoys my husband to no end. He was going on and on about how dumb it is that God suddenly cares about the name but didn't for the past however many years.
There's some real gems in there. My particular favorite:
This remarkable choir seated behind me is known across the world as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Everywhere that it has been heard—and those places are numerous—its song has been a hymn of peace, of love, of reverence, and of humanity, given in anthem of praise to the Almighty and His Beloved Son.
They of this choir are a part, a segment, of this remarkable thing which the world calls “Mormonism” and which we call the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
And so I leave with you the simple but profound thought: Mormon means “more good.”
Whoever is in line after Dallin Hoax to be president will probably reverse the decision.
Also, I hope Mormonleaks publishes the various polls conducted to determine people have a negative perception if Mormons.
