-100 for all of the "new temple announcements".

This is becoming a conference tradition...all of the "oohs and ahhs" while they announce temples in places that won't be built. They don't bleep those noises of excitement out, only the shouts of "opposed" on the Saturday afternoon session.

People need to start shouting "opposed" when they do the temple announcements. Tell the Mormon church to use their largesse for charity and good works for the living instead of building ornate palaces for the dead.

This makes me sick, and is one of the many reasons why I stopped paying on "my half". This year I plan to stop paying on both our halves as it has been confirmed how much money they are sitting on. I detest giving any money to the Mormon church. This is becoming a matter of principal for me now.

The Mormon church has sufficient for their needs.

This. Exactly this. All they have to do is make an announcement at GC. It costs them nothing to make, and the return is fabulous. Gives the followers the appearance that the Mormon church is growing and rolling forth.

Keep writing that tithing check! Donate your estate to the Mormon church! If you need, just write in a special donation on your slip for the construction of that temple! Don't you know we have got a temple in Cambodia to build??
