Niece's Baby Blessing

Post by Linked »

My sister's newest addition to the family was blessed yesterday. My BIL who is fully aware of my current state of belief texted me a few days ago inviting me to join the circle if I would like. I accepted. During the blessing I joined in bouncing the baby all over the place and watched her smile throughout the blessing. We had brisket and shot hoops at their house afterwards. It was fun. And so normal. I think there is room in my family for me. Hopefully the church and I can work out our differences so I am not pushed out.

Respect for your BIL is well deserved.

That is great Linked. It is nice to have family who understand. I have brothers who are willing to hear me out, disagree, and not judge me for it. It is a great feeling. I hope that hope can continue.

It's great when the strength of the relationship overcomes the awkwardness of the differences between people. That's nice that your brothers get it too. I'm always grateful that my family doesn't throw me out over my changing beliefs like I hear some do.
