This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.
I was reading the news this morning and came across this. A a story about a guy that was fraudulently stealing Monopoly tokens from McDonalds and then gifting them for a cut of the money. What I found funny was this part:
Jacobson was the head of a sprawling network of mobsters, psychics, strip-club owners, convicts, drug traffickers, and even a family of Mormons, who had falsely claimed more than $24 million in cash and prizes.
I guess it gave me a chuckle that "a familiy of Mormons" got lumped in with mobsters, psychics, strip-club owners, convicts and drug traffickers.
I read this the other day, it was a great read. It all unraveled in 2001, with the trial starting September 10th. I think that's why I had never heard of it before. High School Linked is really mad that he spent so much money trying to win McDonald's prizes that were all being stolen before getting to any stores.

Yeah, this last year we played "safeway" Monopoly and made like $60, guess i don't have to worry about winning the "big one"
I told a friend the other day that most Mormons are already nuancing their TR answer to "Are you honest in your dealings with your fellow men?"
I saw this the other day and it made me laugh too. The family would have been fine until their actions were made known and reflected badly on the church. Now they'll have to face church discipline.
Well, I'm better than dirt! Ah, well... most kinds of dirt; not that fancy store-bought dirt; that stuff is loaded with nutrients. I can't compete with that stuff. -Moe Sizlack
I posted about this ages ago on the old board, but this reminds me one of these guys (Brent Williams) used to be the stake president here. He left to return to the US to deal with his “business interests”.
