Just remember what we are all celebrating - 40 years ago this family could not be a forever family just because they are black.

To me, it's unbelievable that anyone think this is something to "celebrate".

Then again, maybe it's me who's completely out of touch. Do any of you NOMs have black friends who are still active believers? What do they think of this "celebration"?

The countdown clock has been up for several days. I can't imagine what they've planned.

Damn, black people look great in white shirts and ties!

Oh Fluff, your heart is not cold or dead. You just know what the church is and how the church works.

I'm interested to see how it goes. But I'm worried that Black TBMs are going to be really emotionally invested in this and it's going to be kind of a let down. The church has a really horrible way of dealing with groups they marginalize.

I admit, I'm super curious and will likely watch.

On the other hand, the expectations that come from years of attending meetings tells me it's probably going to be someone quoting a sentence or two from old conference talks and overall the meeting will be super boring and not move the needle at all.
