Active without feeling
Re: Active without feeling
The ex-JW subreddit uses the terms PIMI (physically in, mentally in), PIMO (physically in, mentally out), POMI and POMO. Most of them are PIMO trying to become POMO. I've liked those terms since I first learned them.
Learn to doubt the stories you tell about yourselves and your adversaries.

Without feeling--those are arent in the in click...
Maybe the sister who just always seems depressed
Or the weird elder who doesn't fit in with the quorum
The DINK couple, or the liberal/progressive members.
You know, the members there that arent with the program because they clearly dont feel the spirit or they'd behave differently.

It's frustrating to see the last resort in a discussion of facts be: I disregard those facts because of my faith. Why even talk about facts if the last resort is to put faith above all facts that are contrary to your faith?
Re: Active without feeling
Exactly. In spite of that, I have no problem owning my feelings when it comes to the church. Not Buying It wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 8:59 am “Active without feeling”. How dehumanizing. I have feelings, just not the ones they want me to have.
Are you on the square? Are you on the level?
Re: Active without feeling
I assume it means something like spiritually dead or incapable of feeling the spirit due to coffee/porn/improper underwear, whatever.

I wasn't actually there, but impression I got was that it was something that came down from above, although I can't be certain that it came down from the very top (i.e. COB/Elohim himself)crossmyheart wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 7:32 amSo am I correct in reading this that it isn't just your ward in particular, but the church uses this type of categorization?

Oh, some of us definitely noticed!
Then I went and tried to scare him off in some other thread.
I have faith that he's gonna stick around though.

Re: Active without feeling
If this is a real thing in the church, I just took 8 steps closer to the door.
Who on God's earth is making the call whether someone is active with feeling or active without feeling?? Where did Jesus say anything about doing this?
