Outburst???

Post by Palerider »

I heard the outburst in General conference from someone (sounded like a female) regarding "sexual predators". But couldn't hear the entire statement. Anybody here get the whole thing?

Conference always looks so smoothly controlled and peaceful. Everyone in total harmony and uniformity. Always cracks me up when someone shows that there are real problems bubbling just below the surface. It must frustrate/embarrass leadership no end to know that other people and churches are watching when a little crap hits the fan and exposes their backsides.

Yes it was a woman who yelled 3 Times “Stop protecting sexual predators “ She was removed shortly thereafter . The statistical report is up . Shows a slight increase. Total membership to 16,118,000. Not as bad as I anticipated but I will leave it to the statistical types to analyze.

Funny. I did too. I am glad you mentioned this because it confirms what I heard. Has the media even mentioned it at all? Sounded like someone said something out loud and was probably hauled away by security.

Was in des news, I think? She shouted it three times. Someone said, but no confirmation yet, that there were opposed votes as well but that they muted the mics over the audience for those. I guess that’s why she slipped through? It was after?

Well, it makes a lot more sense than "pay lay ale" repeated three times....Oh God, hear the words of this woman's mouth... 8-)

Actually here is what she said happened in a post on reddit (I've read that she is transgender and left the church 4 years ago when she was a Priest):

"Hey all, name's Crystal and I was the one that yelled at General Conference. It is far passed due that we confront this.

If you have any questions or comments or whatever, feel free to leave them down below.

Edit: Going to add this here since most people have it. After yelling, I sat down and was within a minute basically told to leave immediately. So I complied and they took me to the security office. They told me that I was going to be arrested. I informed them that their assumptions are not based on the Utah Code and that there was no legal reason to arrest me. After some nonsensical and nonimportant arguing, they let me go and watched as I left church property. They gave me a 1 year ban from church property."
Here's a comment in response to her's:
"I just wanted to say thank you.

My step-father sexual assaulted me for months and when the church found out they decided to protect his reputation and get him counseling.

He was at conference today. He heard you. What you said made him open his eyes to what a horrible, awful person he was and is. He has finally come to his senses and is moving out of my moms house, and that is all thanks to you.

Thank you for having the courage to say something I never could."
