Bill is exposing in a more clear way the spying efforts of the LDS Church. Of course, the church believes they are justified by God.

I used to have a much higher set of expectations for prophets, seers, and revelators. Helaman chapter 9 has the dramatic story of Nephi solving the murder of a chief judge using inspiration. He apparently did have investigative tools far beyond law enforcement agencies.
