Grant Palmer last podcast

Post by Rob4Hope »

Anyone see the last podcast with John Dehlin and Palmer?

I went and bought Palmer's book and just getting into it. He said, during the podcast, he was AMAZED that the church would publish the minutes for the Coucil of 50 because it casts JS in a very negative light. Apparently JS had himself ordained King of the World,...and he was referred to from that time forward by some as "our God Joseph".

Grant said there were groups organized to visit the Indian Tribes across the plains and elsehwere to unite with them and incite them to rise up against the United States of America, overthrow the union, and place a theocratic leader in the form of JS at the head. I don't think Grant was making this up...not at this stage.

Nothing surprises me any more...

If there is already a thread on this,...would someone please divert me to it....I don't want to crossthread this.

I've never seen a thread on this, but it is familiar to me. I know it was discussed when I was growing up. By that statement, I mean I grew up in a very open atmosphere. I can't quantify dates and people. I just heard the story talked about. It wasn't a secret.

I was so familiar with this story that when I visited Nauvoo as a teen and the docent mentioned it, it wasn't news. I think it's what's behind this picture.

Brigham Young taught that the Mormons would convert all the Lamanites and together the Mormons and Lamanites would overthrow the US Government to usher in the 2nd Coming where Jesus would rule the earth from Missouri. I would imagine his source for that was Joseph Smith.

Source for this: Will Bagley's book. I can't remember which one but I'm pretty sure it is Blood of the Prophets which is about the Mountain Meadows Massacre.

These men,...JS and BY were barbaric. They teach Christ and then they pull SH!T like this?......and we are taught to "thank thee oh God for a prophet"...?

I mean ...REALLY!
