End of Summer Confession Time

Post by 2bizE »

I think it's time we confess our summer sins so the weight of our sins will be lifted from our shoulders...

Confession: I "forget" sometimes to put my garments back on after whoopy and sleep all night long in the buff.
Confession: I helped a co-worker locate the essays on his phone app.

I told my sister I was an apostate - half joking. She emailed me later and asked me about the LDS essays. We've been in contact almost daily and every time I send her another item for her shelf.

By no coincidence, so did I. But since it was my daughter being married to her delightful partner, I was kind of obligated to go. I'll be happy to share the photographic evidence once the photographer makes it available. The only opposition I had to the wedding was that I was asked to wear black in August in Phoenix. But I suppose white would have inadvertently revealed that I was not wearing garments either.

My bigger sin was only accidentally committed. I have become far to adept at lying to my bishop since he seems to want to provide eccesiastic condolence and commiseration to me about having a Lesbian daughter, not realizing that I am in full support of her. I'm just not interested in that conversation because I don't want to make my dear wife into a church widow. However, it was my apostate connections that found a photographer, officiant, and a DJ who were all happy to provide their services to a very Lesbian wedding. The other temple recomend holding parents were at a loss about their faithful friends or relatives who would provide support to this clear defiance of Boyd Packer.

The evening was wonderful!

#1--I have not set foot inside a chapel since May. It feels great. Busy summer- and Sundays almost always ended up as a much needed 2nd Saturday. My DH took the kids a couple of times, but I think he is getting used to this schedule. I don't plan to go back until I have to for a baptism in October.

#2--I set our information to private on the LDS Tools app. My VT texted me in a panic asking if we had moved. She couldn't find us on the app. LOVE the anonymity. Haven't told DH. oops! I will have to tell him eventually, but really enjoyed the peace and quiet this summer...maybe I will keep forgetting to tell him.

I got my wife out of the church
I found my appreciation for alcohol and partake regularly
I used old garments as rags for oil changes
I burned an LDS book (not BOM, yet)
I voted opposed in Stake and Ward Conference
I say #uck occasionally
I engage in loud laughter
I speak evil of the Lord's Annointed
I did yard work on Sunday
I went to another church
I met with the SP and told him I don't believe polygamy was ever commanded by God
I don't eat meat sparingly
I watch GoT and enjoy it (wink wink)
I actively trying to get family and friends to change their mindset about the church
I went to BoM musical
I told SP I support gay marriage
I went to a lesbian wedding reception as a proud patron
I accepted a control substance that wasn't mine (prescription) but haven't used it yet
I broke the speed limit (frequently)
I was late registering my car
I went to the Trump Rally in Phoenix
I bought a lottery ticket
I drink coffee (regularly)
I haven't attended LDS church the entire 2Q and now I'm inactive
I got my TR taken away
I'm sure I'm forgetting lots

Holy crap. You've earned your namesake. I felt guilty just reading this.

I just think the church kind of sucks. Is that bad?

As the priesthood authority responsible for this post, I hearby pardon you for your many, many, many sins of commission, including the sins not confessed like you no longer wear the garments you use as oil rags. May you go foward with this burden lifted from your mind and heart.

Drank Beer then went to Sac Meeting with a bit of a buzz.
Drink coffee everyday.
Drank beer on a few Sunday morning hikes with a fellow NOM, followed up by coffee at the local coffee shop.
Either hike or mountain bike most Sundays
If I do wear garments to work, I shred them the second I get home.
Rarely wear garments on the weekend.
Threw away my temple recommend because it expired.
Told my kids that even if they end up marrying a TBM, not to pay tithing.
LOVE Game of Thrones.

I can check most of those off my list as well. My middle DD and her 3 year partner have not talked about marriage yet, but that's likely in my future. On top of all the wonderful adult beverages and spirits I enjoy on a regular basis, I also partake of MJ on a weekly basis, usually when I'm doing yard work or going to concerts with friends. When my adult kids came to town last week we went to a smoke shop and I bought a pipe and one for my middle DD. It's been a great summer this year. It's nice that it was guilt free!

I broke the law of chastity in several ways, up to and including sex with my SO (now former SO).
I threatened to break the skull of somebody who stalked my niece.
I practiced a heathen religion (Buddhism, in a secular way).
I got some new ink (only an old testament transgression).
I denied the existence of God and referred to the figure called the Christ as a false prophet.
I repeatedly used several expletives.
I worked on the Sabbath.
I removed the tag on a pillow that says "Do Not Remove Under Penalty Of Law."

the closest i've been to church in about a year and a half are 2 mormon feminist retreats - so NOT like church
at the last retreat i talked to about 30 women about owning their sexuality and the many uses of vibrators
i also may have mentioned to them that i think it's a bunch of hooey to confess 'sexual sins' or any sins for that matter to their priesthood leader - none of his business if you masturbate or anything else. go the source if that's what you believe in and think you need to 'confess'.
i say #uck all the #uckin' time if i feel like it
i kept my keurig and my wine out on the counter when my utah in-laws came to visit
i took a beer and wine class
i dislike beer
i like wine
i LOVE a good cocktail - blueberry bellas are my cocktail of choice at the moment - blueberry vodka, fresh squeezed lemon juice, muddled blueberries, simple syrup - DIVINE!!
i told my TBM friend from oregon that i was high heathen now - at least that's what TBM friends will think i am...
i have a cuppuccino almost everyday, followed by at least 2 cups of regular coffee - still have to have cream and sugar...
i consistently 'defy' my husband and do not consider him the 'head of our household' - we are equals in this marriage thing...
i have learned not only to say 'no', but to say 'hell no!'

These sound very familiar!

Drank ice coffee
Swore liberally, out of TBM DW earshot
The church has engineered your eternal family into a commodity that can be purchased with an annual fee. The fact that full tithing payment is a requirement for saving ordinances is the biggest red flag imaginable. Hagoth
