November 19th my last SIL to marry (in the Temple) gets sealed.
So that means 17 more days to attend and pretend.
17 days, and DW feels the same.
Next Sunday we have a farewell for a YW who goes to serve.
SP will be there, a dutch guy who feels the UK is the greatest nation on earth.
Who wears a poppy these days, because that´s what english people do.
He lived in the UK for 15 years tops.... Dutch born and bred.
This Sunday I will ask him if he´s out of his mind, has lost touch wth his constituents who are Dutch
If he pull my TR, good, another Saturday saved.

This is indeed a cause for celebration! Are you going to make it official as in burn the TR and garmies and send in the official good bye forever letter?Meilingkie wrote:November 19th my last SIL to marry (in the Temple) gets sealed.

Those are definitely some huge steps in the right direction! Good luck with it all and please keep us posted. Curious to know how the SP reactsMeilingkie wrote:No, not yet but the TR is gonna go.

I will be thinking of you on November 19, Meilingkie! I will also be in the temple attending a wedding of a family member, a nephew. But attend and pretend will continue to be my basic policy, unfortunately. I have a few more family expectations, exacerbated by my parents who are spending their retirement years as temple workers.Meilingkie wrote:November 19th my last SIL to marry (in the Temple) gets sealed.

Same here my friend, same here. But DW and kids are at least in the same chapter of the book.

If only the choir would sing that song, "Long live the Tulips all covered with dew...." That would show the SP a plucky people who withstood the latest storm.Meilingkie wrote:Next Sunday we have a farewell for a YW who goes to serve.

What would truly be a hoot is if he wore a sprig from the State Weed of Colorado.
Meilingkie, Perhaps the board could have a hanky wave for you on the 19th! Best wishes to you and Mrs. Meilingkie.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

Ha! You and I are on the same schedule! My daughter get's married in the Provo City Temple on Nov. 19th and I am going to not worry about keeping a temple recommend after that.Meilingkie wrote:November 19th my last SIL to marry (in the Temple) gets sealed.

After that I'm going to do whatever makes me happy, which may periodically include going to church to say hi to my friends there, but much less often. I've told my wife and kids that that is what I am going to do. I am not going to fight against the church, and I'm going to continue to feel happy and comfortable attending whatever church events that I want to, but I'm not going to pretend any longer.
Hats off to you my friend!
Always been the good kid, but I wanted to know more, and to find and test truth.
