It's so true...

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

It's so true...

Post by moksha »

Just won seven hands of solitaire in a row. That proves it is the world's true game, except for Skyrim SE and Fallout 4. Those are truer, but you know what I mean, right?

Anything true for you? If so what is it and why?
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

Gotta be tarot cards  - especially if I use my friend's cards (whether she "reads" them or I do). Been spot on a lot. But her cards (she has a ton of decks) are more accurate than my paltry one or two decks (maybe they're too new).

I know Beethoven piano sonatas are true, because they make me feel good!

Of course, Funkytown does the same thing, so...

Amen. Hallelujah!

And Charlie Parker tunes.
God is Love. God is Truth. The greatest problem with organized religion is that the organization becomes god, rather than a means of serving God.

Well, along that line (music that makes me feel good), I'd have to say Owl City's songs about God, Mannheim Steamroller, Enya. Also, some of Gordon Lightfoot, Lobo, Bread, and a whole slew of others from the late 60's through today.

Starcraft 2 is the one true game. But then you tempt me with Skyrim and Fallout so perhaps I will need to engage in some fervent gaming related study and worship.

That is what bugged me after I lost my LDS testimony. What actually is there that cosmically makes sense and provides any kind of drive to be the kind of person I was trying to be when I fully believed? This has been a much more complicated question and I can only testify about a few ideas that have resonated with me.

Between two points there exists exactly one line.
Between three points there exists exactly one plane, if the three points are not collinear.
Things that are equal to the same are equal to each other (the transitive property of equality).
Any operation performed on both sides of an equation does not affect its truth value (Algeber's rule).
Every positive integer except 1 either is prime or has exactly one prime factorization (the fundamental theorem of arithmetic).

EDIT: Corrected an omission in the fundamental theorem of arithmetic.

Homemade chocolate chip cookies. My own recipe- took me 3 years to perfect. They are divine.
I can also testify to the truth of chocolate in general. Can fix just about any problem.
And Garlic Bread- with lots of extra chunks of garlic.
And Moscato.
These things are all true.

I think I am hungry. Not even lunch yet.

Fact: I testify that I have stronger and more enjoyable spiritual/metaphysical experiences with actual spirits of the adult beverage variety and or natural herbs than I did in any LDS setting.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens... I have a testimony about.

I know that truth is true. It's the truest thing on earth. :ugeek:

Really, this is a light hearted thread which I love not only for its humor but also for its profound truth. I didn't mean that sarcastically but it came out that way, huh? Really, truth is in perspective. I was just sitting next to an old man arguing how freezing it was while an old woman said "that's not true - it's hot!" Truth is in perspective. And what inspires you to feel spiritual, motivated, emotional or inspired is likely different than for me.
