Re: Mr Puriri must have extreme CogDis
This is a really painful story. The saints assumed that what they built in the late 1950s was intended to last into the Millennium and that the LDS church would always back them. Obviously the fiscal plans of the LDS church have not been made public. I don't mean to ascribe any overt malice to them. It's just that the fiscal and organizational longevity of the LDS church does not always encompass a cultural longevity that Maori Saints assumed would be kept in place.
I'm not optimistic that a grassroots coalition in New Zealand might at least build something to replace the Temple View community. Gathering that kind of financing and management is something the LDS church excels at, but a group of native, and not-so-wealthy Mormons is not. Still, I doubt this story is over and I am interested in how it proceeds.

This guy opposed a real estate development deal and had his temple recommend pulled. Seriously?

He vocally raised questions after having both local and general authorities carefully explain that his views were not going to be honored. That's doubling down after far too many spins on the wheel of leadership roulette.oliver_denom wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2017 10:28 am This guy opposed a real estate development deal and had his temple recommend pulled.
