Wow, I've recognized church induced guilt before but never from the perspective of a mother and raising children in the church. Interesting prospective! This might explain the fear my wife has if we don't read scriptures and bless the food every day. We don't, but I know that sets her off when it comes up. I think she can't understand why doing all 499 things on the checklist doesn't translate into a perfect life with perfect kids. Of course she has the perfect husband, so that might add to the confusion.

I don't have the P thing either.
I have the P thing. It's called a She-wee, so I can stand while I "P-thing" outdoors. I always wanted to write my name in the snow. Oh wait, I'm confusing P thing with P thing. I don't have the PH antenna. Sorry for going off topic ;) .

Cool to see people posting who don't normally post. 8-)
There are 2 Gods. One who created us. The other you created. The God you made up is just like you-thrives on flattery-makes you live in fear.

Believe in the God who created us. And the God you created should be abolished.

I felt guilty and inadequate for years. I wasn't a good enough mother, wife, sister, daughter, visiting teacher, rs president. The weight of expectations was crushing. I have found a great freedom in simply living the best I can each day and not agonising over the eternal impact of every decision.
