A different Q15 --------- Question #15 - Self evaluation

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Do you consider yourself worthy to enter the Lord's house and participate in temple ordinances?
Yes. I believe I am following God according to my conscience and his will, and if there's any truth to be had in a temple, I have every right to be there and to try to dig it out as I attend.

I think it is wrong to tell people they have to pay money, follow manmade rules, and swear fealty to men (oath-like) to go to a temple. At least, if they claim it is God's temple. If it's their own clubhouse, then they can do what they want with it.
There are 2 Gods. One who created us. The other you created. The God you made up is just like you-thrives on flattery-makes you live in fear.

Believe in the God who created us. And the God you created should be abolished.

True. I've wondered (even as a tbm) why they asked this question at all. Then decided it was for self-reflection purposes, since it doesn't really count.

To me, I'm "worthy" to go to the temple, despite my unorthodoxy, because my orthopraxy is actually fairly close to the standard. The problem is, the answers I've given on this board to the temple questions, I'm sure some dude with "keys" is going to have issues, and I might not get mine renewed. And at this point, I'm not sure that even matters. I will return and report my experience with this, as it's coming up. It will be very interesting if they deign to give me one.

I like this. And it reflects my feelings too.

It's kind of ironic that when I spiritually left Mormonism/Christianity, I feel closer to the Christ as described in the NT. It's easier to see and value the humanity in everyone. It's so much easier to love one another. So if the LDS church is Christ's church then I am more worthy to enter Christ's temple than when I was TBM.

For me specifically...

I feel like I am a better person today than when I was a TBM.

So do I feel worthy enough to enter the temple? Gotta say NO to that one. Purely on the notion that the Temple is meant for believing members and I am a non-believer.

No, and I would love to never set foot in that place again. But in spite of my disbelief my wife wants me at the weddings so I go.
