Indeed; that's why I said "you may". As far as I know, none of the persons I listed changed their names for the sake of anonymity. If any did, they may notify me, and I shall remove them.

Thanks LSOF for starting this thread. I agree with you that if someone wants anonymity, we'll all respect that, of course.LSOF wrote:Indeed; that's why I said "you may". The church has engineered your eternal family into a commodity that can be purchased with an annual fee. The fact that full tithing payment is a requirement for saving ordinances is the biggest red flag imaginable. Hagoth

Previously "The Beast." Now, still "The Beast," but it is pronounced differently. Please pm for for the pronunciation guide.
Are you on the square? Are you on the level?

It's pronounced Throat Warbler Mangrove isn't it?The Beast wrote:Previously "The Beast." Now, still "The Beast," but it is pronounced differently. Please pm for for the pronunciation guide.

I'm the poster formerly known as TickleFighter. Same picture though. Abraham riding a Tapir ftw!
Re: List of people here who changed their names
I was formerly known as "Jelph" on the other NOM.

Excellent point. If some feared their old names may have given away their "in real-life identity", they might seek to avoid the pitchforks and torches of their fellow ward members when speaking their mind on this forum.AllieOop wrote: I agree with you that if someone wants anonymity, we'll all respect that, of course.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

Re: List of people here who changed their names
I noticed I have to look closely at the names, because I was so used to looking at Avatars. I guess I'm guilty of that, too.

Especially when your avatar was some anthropomorphized rodents in choir garb, with a backstory, to boot!document wrote:I noticed I have to look closely at the names, because I was so used to looking at Avatars. I guess I'm guilty of that, too.

Yup, I will need to log into Facebook (blocked at work) to get that image back. I forgot about my little choir squirrels.
They've changed a bit, they are still wearing their robes (they are reformed) but have been given the names "Cletus" (after a horrible impression I gave of our director from Oklahoma where I whistled my S sounds) and "Dorcas", a failed amateur organist who was attempting to secure a position. It wasn't so much a poke at her, but we all thought the name Dorcas (a biblical name) was hilarious.

I changed from InsideLookingOut.
Had wanted to change for a long time and this gave me the opportunity. I actually lifted Vlad from another, completely unrelated, board, but I'm a huge fan of Dracula/Halloween so I decided to steal it.

That's how I felt about it - I would have kept using my original name had the old board continued, but once I was no longer scared of the fact the church was a complete fraud (and had been through the whole outrage and acceptance stages, etc.) I wanted a new name that showed strength, a future and happiness.Vlad the emailer wrote:I changed from InsideLookingOut.

That is me too, I upgraded from apprentice of the anti-christ to the anti-christ. I just don't care as much anymore, as evidenced by my apathy to change back my avatar.Silver Girl wrote:That's how I felt about it - I would have kept using my original name had the old board continued, but once I was no longer scared of the fact the church was a complete fraud (and had been through the whole outrage and acceptance stages, etc.) I wanted a new name that showed strength, a future and happiness.Vlad the emailer wrote:I changed from InsideLookingOut.
