Had hard talks last night.
With DW and the kids.
About the Church
About life.
DW depression, kids low self-esteem and many more issues.
Hard talks, many tears.
We are close to quitting.
All of us.
The anger is subsiding.
We have seen alternatives.
We have felt love unconditional.
It's been a bumpy ride for me.
And theirs is about to start, but a lot smoother.
Thanks all.

Wishing you and your family all the best! Hang in there and hold on to each other!

Good luck my friend. Your family will be happier when you cut the cord. I really believe that.

Meilingkie,
If you were to read my posts here and on other sites, you'd quickly learn I have no love for the institution of the Church. I think it's manipulative and hurts people in some of the most egregious ways. I'd love to see it figuratively burn to the ground.
That being said, I realize you have a love for the Church, that it has been a spiritual home to you, and I think this transition must be very sad for you. I'm sorry you're all going through this. I'm glad you and your family are there for each other.
Thinking of you bro.,
Zack

Re: The end of the line
Meiingkie - this must be a very sad but also liberating time for you. I know you've tried hard to make it work (I've read your posts all along). Yes, the road ahead will be better (those of us who have completely resigned can attest to that), but the path getting to that road is a tough one. I'm so glad to hear that your family is together in this decision. So many of our wonderful NOM friends here have to balance their family expectations with their own compass, and I can't imagine how stressful that is.
Thanks for the update - please let us know the next steps and how things go! I consider you a great role model here, and a friend in our special online ward.

Good luck moving forward. I can't imagine how I could help, but let me know if there is a way. This is a tough transition and you have been enduring it for a long time.
Re: The end of the line
I hope you know how much you are appreciated here, Meilingkie. Best of luck to you and your family!

Making this decision as a family will allow you the strength and support to move on. Best wishes to you all.
