I'm a man, so I can't really empathize with trying to find a garment appropriate dress, but there has to be better options that Cheryl Flake's choice for her hubby's senate reelection kickoff party. I'm pretty sure that's a shirt over her garments, but might as well just have been the garments.

Maybe it is virtue signaling, I don't know. In her defense (and I had never heard of them until today), I think mormon women get so used to the mormon ways of dealing with garments, they don't realize how silly it looks to the general population. A t-shirt is not the solution to everything. I can only think that if I were in her position and knowing I would be photographed by the media, I would have chosen a different dress or taken it to the tailor to have it appropriately lined.
I will add that the one thing I miss about garments in the summer is the ability to wear white with no underwear lines. However, I don't miss wearing multiple layers in the summer. I'm still not going back.

My favorite was a "Tube-Top" over a white t-shirt. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry...

Wow! That's just bad.
Although I did see a bride wear a layering tee under her sleeveless wedding dress once.

I'm just glad I don't have to wear shade/downeast/whatever shirts with everything under the sun anymore.
Even if it's something disappointing, it's still better to know the truth. Because people can deal with disappointment. And once they've done that, they can feel that they have really grown. And that can be such a good feeling. -Fred Rogers

I think the signalling is completely understandable considering the kind of heat and speculation Anne Romney endured. Maybe the future for the wives of LDS candidates is to just ditch the outward clothing altogether and go out in public wearing garments and nothing else. I don't know if this is intentional or not. I kind of hope it is.

I thought exactly the same thing (as I'm pretty sure that's what she's wearing)!trophywife26.2 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2017 7:47 pm I'm just glad I don't have to wear shade/downeast/whatever shirts with everything under the sun anymore.
As to the picture, all I thought was: "Yikes!! Buy a dress that's not sheer on the top!"

My son's prom date wore a shade shirt under her dress. Beautiful girl, but she just looked downright silly.
