Another call this morning.
So a brother from Rotterdam 1st ward called me, and invited me to the Priesthood-breakfast.
NICE, a full English breakfast, like the previous Stakepresident organised every Conference.
And our previous SP; despite his many failings got that right, he turned Conference into a social thing, and he made made marvelous scrambled eggs himself for all of us. And then sat down to watch conference with his apron still on, and a filthy rag tucked in his jeans.
Then we got a new SP 2 years ago, one from England, and he like English things, except for the breakfast because it detracts from the spirit.
So he cancelled it, then wondered aloud why people don´t attend PH-session.......
But back to the invite, this brother said HE would make a full english breakfast at the Stakecenter for members of his ward only, and he invited me to come as well. So I asked, is this a Stake thing??
His reply: NOPE, if the Stakepresidency asks for soup, NO SOUP FOR YOU !!!! He should have kept het tradition alive................

Good to see members taking a stand for themselves and not giving into the person on a power trip.
I am curious about a couple thing. Do you have any idea how many members in your area listened to your podcast with Mormon Stories? Also, do you think it had any impact on the church or the members in your area?

Re: No soup for you !!!
Well a few things stood out.
1. Mormon Stories in Holland is a fringe-thing, few Dutch members look into it, and most are disaffected anyway.
2. However, many LDS Expats living here did look, and contacted me, confirming my thoughts and handing me morsels of info they have.
3. Think about 3 dozen saw it????
4. It will not have an impact per-se. However I have gotten so much extra info I can now see what's going to happen the next few months. And start organising some sort of resistance.
So I did place some FB-posts online to galvanize protest against some imminent closings.
If the people don''t know what's coming, they have no chance to stop it or influence it.
