Re: Mormon Podcasts
Listening to the current one about the guy that recorded his visit with the GA and JS papers project director. The back and forth dialogue is pretty interesting.

They took down the latest podcast for some reason. It's great!!!! It's an interview with a GA and a very prominent Church Historian

Re: Mormon Podcasts
Does anybody know why they took the last podcast down? I listen to about half of it last night, and was going to listen to the other half today, but it has vanished.
Re: Mormon Podcasts
I agree with you. These are great.
Some other favorites are episodes:
005: Masonry and Mormonism, an Interview with Greg Kearney
047-051: Richard Bushman Interviews
268-270: Dr. Michael Coe – An Outsider’s View of Book of Mormon Archaeology
338-342: The Psychology of Religion with Dr. James Nagel
348-349: Simon Southerton, DNA, Lamanites and the Book of Mormon

Here's those episode numbers:FiveFingerMnemonic wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2017 6:01 pmMy classic favorites from the archive:

Richard Bushman
030-033: An Insider’s View of Mormon Origins — An Interview with Grant Palmer
149-152: LDS Anthropologist Daymon Smith on Post-Manifesto Polygamy, Correlation, the Corporate LDS Church, and Mammon
535-539: Tom Phillips, the Second Anointing, and LDS Apostle Jeffrey R. Holland
047-051: Richard Bushman Interviews
I got a lot of otherwise boring and tedious work done around the house while listening to Mormon-themed podcasts.
You might also check out "Mormon Discussion", "A Thoughtful Faith", "Infants on Thrones", and "Mormon Expression". Some, like Infants on Thrones and Mormon Expression are more "The church sucks" and some like "A Thoughtful Faith" and "Mormon Discussion" are more like "the church has value, but it has problems". Mormon Stories is probably in the middle, or at least was for the majority of the episodes. John Dehlin was excommunicated for doing these podcasts and of course that soured him to the church, although he remains relatively respectful.
Always been the good kid, but I wanted to know more, and to find and test truth.
Re: Mormon Podcasts
I'm guessing the church's legal team sent John Dehlin a cease and desist letter. I have them downloaded and can share them if I can find a way to do it.LostMormon wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2017 10:44 amDoes anybody know why they took the last podcast down? That would be great, I was streaming the podcast, so I have nothing saved, but the recording was quite interesting, I would like to hear the rest of it.
Re: Mormon Podcasts
John posted on Reddit why he made the decision to take it down.Goodboy wrote:I'm guessing the church's legal team sent John Dehlin a cease and desist letter. Mormon Leaks posted a copy to their site.
Similar to the Tom Philips interview, John knows that once it hits the internet it doesn't matter what he does after. So he pulls it and then he can claim taking the high road knowing it still exists on the web.
Whatever. It's his circus.

Haha Bloodhound98. Such a great newcomer (says the guy who has been here 2 years).
I love your excitement.
BTW there is a MSP FB group. You have to request in but they will accept you. It really isn't that great though.
If you like MS, you should check out Infants On Thrones. Not so much stories or doctrine but very entertaining.

Infants On Thrones released its own version. Originally it was in one long episode, but after John Dehlin took his down, they experienced a spike in traffic and re-released theirs in three shorter parts to make downloading easier.Bloodhound98 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2017 7:54 am They took down the latest podcast for some reason. All of these are great, but I particularly liked Daymon Smith's. I forget sometimes that Correlation was an early item on my shelf/shelf breaker for me.FiveFingerMnemonic wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2017 6:01 pm My classic favorites from the archive:
