Anyone wanna suffer through the RS broadcast with me?

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Anyone wanna suffer through the RS broadcast with me?

Post by MoPag »

I totally get it if you don't. I don't want to listen either, but I have to know what they are saying.

I consulted me seer stone earlier ;) and I predict a lot of hating on women of the world.

Also I think one of the prayers will be from someone not white

Sister Oscarson is conducting and she welcomed sisters of other faiths. I've never heard them do that before. TSM is a no show. Not surprised. Eyring and Uchtdorf are there. Oh Gods please let it be Uchtdorf that speaks to us and not Eyring.

Apparently did not lean unto our own understanding during the pre-mortal life. :? Don't know how she worked that one out.

Also I wonder if she's wearing Lipsense?

Mormon leaks released the speaker list. You're getting Eyring.

Burton really cranked one over on me a few years back when she told my wife (indirectly through the RS broadcast) that I was a worthless non believer.

I wrote her a letter. I wished I had mailed it.

Oh yes Burton is a piece of work.

I have to give Female BRM points for taking about sisters is Africa. That was actually a sweet story about a girl helping others.

Burton must be last before Eyring.

DW and DD decided to stay home and watch it while playing a board game.

She should be talking about how to empower the young women in today's world?

Or how to help them build a strong individualized self esteem?

Or (god forbid) how to develop their sexuality?

So this poor woman was still being RS president from her deathbed. You can't make this stuff up.

I'm half listening while Sister M and DD are watching in the living room, while watching some b-ball. One thing I don't get is this insistence that women are SPECIAL disciples of Jesus, but then they never say WHY. Am I missing something?

Don't forget he mentioned how great the conference was up to that point as well.

I don't think anything said tonight was ever meant to empower or build self esteem. We heard more than one example of women who were literally working themselves to death for the church. That was set up as an ideal.

Work to death for the church. That is the only way you will be happy. That is what God and Jesus want for you.

There are thousands of women listening to this who are really struggling, and they will leave feeling so guilty for feeling bad about their struggles. It's like this sick cycle. The church cripples you and then tells you only it can heal you. And when you crawl to them looking to help they slam you down again.

Well I guess my seer stone is broken. The two prayers were as white as you can be. Also no blatant women of the world hate.
