If someone shows up unannounced, especially with goodies or an invite to go somewhere, the movie Singles Ward has some pretty good suggestions for how to refuse. (about the middle of the movie, I think)

I've gone to a couple of singles' wards, and it has them pegged pretty well, even down to the creepy guy that none of the girls want to be around (it makes me wonder if the guys who wrote the script went to the same one).
