Re: #DezNat parody
December 30th Update! I thought of some more funny tweets! Here they are!!! We're studying the Doctrine and Covenants in 2021 and I'm so excited! My favorite scripture from there is probably section 132, verse 54, where God says he'll kill Emma Smith if she doesn't stop complaining about Joseph ...

MORE FUNNY TWEETS USING THE DEZNAT HASHTAG!!! December 13th 2020 update! I've tried to get close to President Nelson. On numerous occasions, I've said to myself, "If only I can touch the lapel of his suit, I shall be healed of my desire to look at http://mormonthink.com" But every time I approach ...

Re: #DezNat parody
Every one a gem. What kind of responses do you get to this stuff? Most of my tweets got no response whatsoever. Idk how many people actually see them. One lady told me to stop mocking sacred things. One guy spammed me with a bunch of Chris Farley GIFs. One person thought I was serious and that was ...

#DezNat parody
I've had some fun on Twitter lately. I sent out these tweets, all with the DezNat hashtag: A lotta fancy professors and scholars are hating on Joseph Smith for looking in seerstones and digging for treasure and blah blah blah, but here's the bottom line: Joseph Smith found the Golden Plates, and you ...

Re: Prayer Why Bother
I suppose if you don't believe in God, then it doesn't make sense to pray. But if you have faith in God, and more specifically, if you believe in the Jesus of the New Testament, then it makes sense to pray. Christ said to pray, so I pray. One of the things I think Joseph Smith got right was D & C 88 ...

Re: Mormon Prayer vs. Catholic Prayer
My only experience with Catholic prayer was when I was under 8 because the family moved then. But I was at my neighbors house, who were cousins, but family member dad married a Catholic and so converted. But the mother asked me to say the prayer on the food, then chewed me out for asking for people ...

Re: Mormon Prayer vs. Catholic Prayer
Curious if you find Catholic prayers any more productive than Mormon prayers. Do you get any better inspiration or intervention? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes, I find Catholic prayers more productive than Mormon prayers. I believe the words to the Catholic prayers were written under the ...

Robert Millett lied to me, “Sacred, Not Secret” and Secret Teachings
Ever heard of the apologist Robert Millett? He came to my mission one time, almost 20 years ago, to a zone meeting, stood up in the front and said, “I’m a scholar of Mormon doctrine. Ask me anything.” I asked Robert Millet why Joseph Smith prayed to Jehovah (aka Jesus) in the dedicatory prayer of the ...

Mormon Prayer vs. Catholic Prayer
I’ve been praying like a Catholic for a year now and I have some observations about the differences between Mormon prayer and Catholic prayer. When I was TBM, I remember people would criticize Catholics for doing vain repetitions when they pray. Christ warns against “vain repetitions” in the Sermon o ...

Re: Maybe it’d be nice if everyone posted a very short intro who they are
I was born and raised in the LDS Church. When I was 18, I didn't know if I was going to go on a mission or not. I didn't know what I believed. During my freshman year of college, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed. I gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon and the Church and I felt the Sprit and ...

Re: Swinger’s here we come!
I like DEZNAT's attitude. They're like, "it's all true. JS was a prophet, BOA is a literal translation. Deal with it." That used to be my attitude. I could never handle some squishy progressive Mormonism theology. When I was a believer, I loved "Mormon Doctrine" by Bruce R. McConkie. I believed that ...

Re: Petition regarding BYU
I can't believe they can't find a faculty sponsor at BYU for a pro-life club! Is there any update on this? I'm actually a hardcore pro-lifer now. I oppose abortion in every circumstance. Have you guys seen the movie "Unplanned?" It's great. It's about Abby Johnson, a Planned Parenthood employee who ...
Re: Mormon
Around 2011, the Church did the big "I'm a Mormon" push. They had billboards that said "I'm a Mormon," and they had that movie called "Meet the Mormons." They encouraged everybody to create online profiles on their new social media-style website. I made one of those profiles. The start of every ...

We all know the debate is over. The Book of Abraham is one of the many smoking guns that demonstrates that Joseph Smith was a false prophet.

Re: If I could ask them one question . . . Come Follow Me, Lesson 34
If you believe in a literal Bible or a literal Book of Mormon, then you have to say that yes, God does cause natural disasters. God rained fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah. God sent those ten plagues/bad things to the Egyptians. And in 3 Nephi, God gets really ruthless and destroys tons of ...

Re: Temple changes
Getting rid of garment marks would be tougher - but not impossible. Just a thought.
The LDS leadership can change nearly anything they want. The Church is anti-historical. The members will accept nearly any change and say it's inspired and an example of continuing revelation. They ...

Holy Cow. The Church is cool now. I wanna be cool too so I guess I should be Mormon again. LOL JK.
The 3 witnesses in the new musical rap: "we be the gentleman scholars, intellectual ballers" LOL! Oh man. This is craziness. But I guess to believers, this play is awesome.

Re: I’m Catholic now.
What is the appeal of Roman Catholicism over the Orthodox faiths? I'm not saying you are wrong, I have done a lot or reading of Christian history and the tension between these faith groups since 1054 is complicated. Was there any interest in other high church faiths? The Roman Catholic Church is ...

I’m Catholic now.
I just told everyone in my life that I’m Catholic. I wrote about my conversion on my blog, Reasons to Stay LDS (even though you don’t believe in the Church anymore.)

Re: Anti-Catholic Litertature Wanted
If baptism doesn’t mean something to the person being baptized, then it means nothing. It baptism is meaningful, then it should be symbolism that is meaningful to the dunkee. I believe people benefit from being prayed for. People who are totally unaware that they are being prayed for, and people w ...
