Re: Moderators, hosting, and other admin
Hmmm...not sure I'd take you up on this offer. Things didn't turn out so well when you represented yourself against Alma. I wouldn't want to get struck dumb by the moderators or trampled under the feet of r/exmormon.Korihor wrote:I volunteer to represent the accused in any DC's.

Re: Private Messages
I was getting that message earlier, but now it looks like it would let me PM someone. Not sure if it's due to post count, but I have nine posts (10 with this one), FWIW.

Re: DW Digging In Somewhat
Sorry, those two reasons don’t work for me so I would never say they did to my wife. I get that for others those are valid reasons for them to keep going to church. Fair enough - they don't work for me, either. I think the reasons you listed above are perfectly valid, as well. From my reading, I s ...

Re: Mrs. Hagoth is reading RSR
But it is a step toward a more realistic understanding. At least it opens the door to real history that is off limits in correlated lessons. I think this is really important. Once people gain this perspective, they become more compassionate to those of us who have left. They're also better equipped ...

Re: What I wish I would have done differently
I am Climbing this path now for several years, and as you come out of the darkness you see there are not a few people Climbing, but a multitude. And it´s damn empowering. You see people falter, or abandon the climb altogether. And that´s fine, maybe a shame, but fine nevertheless, But it´s a hard cl ...

I'm really glad to see you back, too. I didn't post on the old board, but I always enjoyed your posts.

Re: Mrs. Hagoth is reading RSR
I read RSR as a last-ditch effort to believe the narrative again. I wanted to read the faithful perspective of a respected scholar. It confirmed that the problems are all true and that the best the church can do is highlight that despite all the problems, Joseph Smith started a church that has ...

Re: DW Digging In Somewhat
I think staying or going are both valid choices, and you should choose the option that is best for you and your family. I have a friend who stays in the church because (1) he thinks he's a better person with the church in his life and (2) he thinks the church is better with him in it. I think that's ...

Re: My NOM Testimony
My "testimony" would be similar in some ways and different in other ways. But, that's part of the beauty of this type of authenticity that is often lost in testimonies that follow the traditional formula. I would have a difficult time doing this, but I think these types of non-traditional ...

What I wish I would have done differently
By all accounts, transitioning out of the church can be a difficult and trying process. But, I think there are some things that could have made my transition better. Here's my list: 1. Express love and acceptance instead of anger: I wish I could have kept anger out of my conversations with my wife ...

Re: Welcome NOM refugees to NOM 2.0
Glad to see NOM is back. I lurked for a few years but never registered. I decided to register and participate because I'd like to see an active and vibrant NOM board that can help others in their journey. Like many others on this board, my wife is still active in the church. While we had a couple of ...
