Oooh... I've had the Extra Ginger Brew but I've never seen that before. That looks fantastic!

Re: What are you drinking right now?
Any NOMmies like Gin? How do you imbibe said Gin? Gin and Tonic was my preference during my gin phase. Also, don't cheap out on the tonic. It is the majority of your drink so pouring good gin into cheap tonic is just a shame. If you go into the new aged gin then the sky's the limit, one of my ...

What do you still hold onto or treasure? My wife. Really, at this point she is the biggest connection to Mormonism in my life. I know this wasn't quite the answer you were looking for, but I don't think there is anything uniquely Mormon that I still cherish as far as belief systems go. I'm even ...

Re: What are you drinking right now?
What’s with all the wine haters? Even Jesus drank wine! My alcohol journey has taken me into wine this year and I really see the potential for just settling down with wine. I'm finding I can quite enjoy a nice dry red. I'm one of those folks on r/wine now posting a picture and sharing tasting notes. ...

Re: What’s your work situation?
I work retail. I'll be in the middle of the craziness over supplies and spending lots of face time with the general public risking infection with every customer. People, at least at my location, seem to be appreciative that grocery store employees are still showing up for work (as if your average ...

Re: Wine for cooking
If you are curious about it you can use something like Vivino to research wines. It has user ratings and average costs (the focus is drinking not so much cooking but the rule of thumb is to only cook with wine you'd drink). If you poke around you can see there are quite a few fairly high rated wines ...

Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. I'm making another excursion into wine. Quite tasty, passionfruit and citrus on the nose and strong grapefruit and a bit of pear on the palate. I also have a souverain Chardonnay in the fridge I want to get to.

Re: Burial in temple clothes
No idea when it started, but I can tell of a stupid reason that I can surmise from something else I "learned" as a MORmON young person. "The reason we shouldn't cremate our bodies is to make it easier on Elohim to re-assemble our bodies during the resurrection." (I'm not positive where I heard this ...

Re: Why did Joseph Smith return from Iowa to go to Carthage?
I think the Church has built tremendous amount of mythology around Joseph going "like a lamb to the slaughter". Joseph had got himself out of all kinds of pickles, I really think he thought he was going to get himself out of this one. I don't for a second believe he went back across the river ...

Diet Dr. Pepper and Wild Turkey 101. I like to sip neat but sometimes you just want something relaxing to sip while wasting time on Youtube on a day off.

Re: Casual dress in church ????????
I would think even if a god existed to care about why you were wearing what you were wearing we as humans aren't able to read minds. As soon as you tie clothing into piety it'll be used to judge people, so even if hypothetically some person might be better off spiritually dressing up a bit on sunday ...

Re: On Tea
The power of the Church often lies in the ability to let cultural norms run the show. In many ways the church makes me think of a shady business owner who knows his employees are working off the clock in reaction to a meeting where he says meet unreasonable quotas or else but looks the other way ...

Re: Coming out as a coffee drinker
DW thinks coffee breath is unpleasant, so I haven't gone venturing there. My wife hates the smell of coffee. I started there but have since migrated over to tea. I'm quite enjoying it and I can have a cup next to the wife on the couch without her scrunching up her nose in disgust. Indeed, and can ...

Re: My son is posting anti information on FB now.
It's happened. My other son posted a comment that basically said pres. Oaks is a d i c k, with a emoji of a zucchini. I can't bear this, I'm sorry. I texted the son that is anti and asked him to take it down, but if he didn't I would understand. I feel helpless now. My kids don't mince words and ...

Re: Extended Family Relationships
No, but then my situation is probably non-standard. Not a single one of my siblings is a TBM and as far as my relationship with my parents they go pretty smoothly. It is possible that if I didn't live across the country from my parents that I might see more friction there, or it is possible I'm not ...

Re: Church Renews Opposition to ERA
The phrase "all men are created equal" should easily be seen as signifying "all mankind " which includes women. So both sexes already have equal rights across the board. The phrase "all men are created equal" is not in the United State Constitution but rather the Declaration of Independence.

Re: Church Renews Opposition to ERA
Here is the entire text of the ERA: Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex. Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article. Section 3 ...
