Re: LGBT Question/Answer At The First Presidency Press Conference
Wow, that was the worst non-answer of all time. Q: President Nelson, what did you eat for lunch? A: God has placed food in abundance upon the earth. There seem to be times when we eat and maybe times when we should not eat quite as much, but God loves us, so there's food, and it should be partaken ...

I also noticed the Eyring mouth agape face! Really strange. I was worried he might be having a stroke. I noticed this, too. In my profession, I see a lot of people with neurocognitive disorders, including people with “dementia.” It definitely concerned me...seeing HBE in this condition.. whether med ...

Re: My sister has taken her own life
I am so very sorry to hear this. I can only imagine what it feels like to be in your shoes. But, I can imagine...and it is heartbreaking. My son was involuntarily hospitalized last year, with serious suicidal ideation. I wasn’t there. One of his professors (out-of-state) drove him to the ER. My son m ...

Re: It is what it is
Thank you for the acknowledgement, MM. As I reflected on the week (including my NOM-edited post), I am struck by the realization that I’m STILL uncomfortable in my own Mormon skin. I can’t just say what I need to say... and Let It Be.
Ugh. Mormon Programming runs very deep.

Re: It's that time of the every-other-year again
I pay 0 every year and declare a full tithing. I subscribe to the pay 10 % if your surplus interpretation. I have had no surplus for several years. I have never had a bishop challenge me, but if he did, I would say it’s a full tithing. Is he going to call me a liar if n front of my wife and kids? ...

Re: The mormon machine is too strong!
Me too but I can't see how this will ever happen unless we can enter some sort of witness protection program and start a new life with a new name, mustache, and colored underwear. Count me in for the Pilot Witness Protection Program. I will volunteer for starting a new life, getting a new name ...

Red Ryder— I hear you, and I’m sorry that I cannot offer more than a whole lot of understanding and empathy. Going through faith crisis/disaffection/whatever the H*#@ you want to call it (but it feels like H*#@ to me)— it is Rough. But, I can handle all of the difficult, maddening, heartbreaking, con ...

Mods- please delete the duplicate/random posts. Clearly, I don't know how posting works! :) Ha! Leave it. It reflects your anguish all too well. I'm sitting here laughing picturing you hitting the enter key 4 or 5 times in frustration yelling " I am good enough damnjt, I am good enough ...

It Is What It Is - Take 2
"Watching" myself react the way that I have -- just to writing a d*&% post -- and the discomfort that followed -- makes me kind of sick to my stomach. I joined NOM (NOM.1) 5.5 years ago. My zealously TBM parents had just "outed" me to my whole extended family in a group e-mail that I got at the same ...

Hi SNE— thanks for your words of support to me today... I’m sorry for what you are going through, too. Sometimes the holidays can be difficult. Sometimes, in addition to remembering all the good we have, family times also bring up the painful parts of relationships, too. I have only one daughter, bu ...

It is what it is
I am grateful for many things, on this day of Thanksgiving. It’s good to pop back in here, after taking a break. I was frustrated last week by my Bishop calling me in to ask me about my (non) TR-holding status. My son had told him that he wanted to stay home with me, rather than go to a Temple d ...

Re: Crazy Town
I guess we have to accept our relatives "as is"....Nothing crazy about that. Do we really "have to"? I disagree. There is a certain amount of acceptance and tolerance that we should give, trying to be patient and accepting in the process. BUT...I disagree that we "have to accept our relatives 'as ...

Re: Crazy Town
Enough I am just reading this! Sorry a bit late to the party but, my oh my! Crazy is not the word! Sounds like a bit of intervention is needed here and maybe another "come to Jesus" meeting. Since they seem bent on all things church I would definitely lay down some ground rules and most definitely ...

Re: Crazy Town
I'm sorry. Sounds like a lousy time. My husband says his parents weren't this weird when he was a kid. Were yours, or is this something that happened as they aged, or just as you backed away from church? I have a theory that this is just changing church culture and our parents as well as our peers ...
