When Rusty drops off, I wonder what Darth Vader….i mean Oaks….will do.
Will he kiss Rusty’s a$$ or move onto something new?

Re: Lot's Daughters
TSCC doesn’t condemn Lot to my knowledge.
It’s interesting how a teenager is necking in the parked car and they are committing the sin next to murder, and Lot gets a pass.
This double standard is one of the main reasons I will never again trust the church.

Re: Will race and ethnicity follow us into the afterlife?
The literature overwhelming supports life after death. It also strongly leans to reincarnation. Scientific materialism discounts it all. A universal resurrection is an absurdity because my body, right now, is part of the chicken I ate two weeks ago. If both me and the chicken resurrect, who gets ...

SL Trib: The church could be worth $1 Trillion by 2044
The comment from the GA that we are not a wealthy church is a lie. I think the church likes to switch its perspective. By church they focus on people like those in Africa. But the corporation is not the church. It’s so nice to be able to lie by getting technical about perspective… Sent from my iPh ...

Re: SL Trib: The church could be worth $1 Trillion by 2044
The church is doing charity work a little now because they got found out and now have a bloody nose. For PR they need to “appear” as charitable. This is what companies do when they back peddle. It appears Jesus, the head of TSCC, is stupid and out of touch…..because we know for sure it couldn’t possi ...

Re: Ever wished you would just cease to be?
Hi all. I have 3 personal friends who had NDEs, one was extensive and has 3rd degree burn scars over 80% of her body. Her face had to be rebuilt. I personally think our consciousness lives on. Also, last I checked the literature, science has no consensus on what consciousness is, though they argue ...

2. Tithing is still 10% Are they still avoiding the topic completely with the "GROSS INCOME" vs "NET"...etc....and does anyone even care about the poverty and asking someone to donate money instead of buying medicine or food? 5. Church is 60 minutes shorter but still intolerable. Hunh?.......tell me ...

(Being tied to the bedposts is really not the #1 fantasy of Mormon men in my generation. I know of no study since no one really cares what older Mormon men fantasize about, but if I had to guess, that is if you really pressed me on the matter, I would posit, and I would carefully add that this is ...

I'm back. What is going on?
Hello again everyone,....some of the "old timers" here know me. I've been gone for a while, but am circling back as I miss the banter as well as just the fun this site brought. I've read a lot of your posts to my partner, and we have both laughed at the whit more than once! <<thank you for that ...

Re: Made to worship?
In my memory, I thought I read in LDS curriculum or perhaps an apologist doc, statements saying that we have an inborn desire to worship, all from God, so that he would have those who glorify Him. Does anyone know anything about this? And also, what about the LDS position regarding worship?.....does ...

Re: Science/Religion
The essential purpose of the practice of science is to replace old, bad understanding with new, better understanding. The essential purpose of the practice of religion is to maintain the status quo and deflect disruptive new ideas. I agree with this and will say that, IMHO, religion is more rigid ...

Made to worship?
I have a general question for you out there. I've often wondered if we humans have an intrinsic need, genetic or otherwise, to "worship". It seems like when we don't understand something, we don't immediately (as a general rule) jump to logic to help us sift through the confusion, but we jump to ...

Had a small reconciliation with this person, which was overdue and most welcome.
Wanted to share the good news. But having said that, I'm also going to be on my guard for a while; these things happen too often to do otherwise.

Re: Changes I have seen. Does anyone agree?
I see a "doubling down" aspect in members who are TBM, and especially those who are the passive ones. I've often marveled at this, but it makes sense considering my own experience. It took a major life-crisis for me to even consider there was something fishy going on. When that crisis hit, I finally ...

“Forgive your brother or their remaineth in you the greater sin” What a load of crock! Just had a conversation with a family member who is a TBM and am amazed at the judgement. I didn’t leave the LDS church on my own…I couldn’t. So I rebelled bad and got exed. That was my way out…my only way. Only af ...
