Re: Impermanent Ward Relationships are Still Real
I have been a member my entire life, although now quite nuanced, like most people on this forum. I've also been serving in the US military my entire adult life, and, in my opinion, these type of relationships exist in all aspects of our childhood and adult friendships. I've had the bestest of ...

Re: Renlund story makes me mad
I love this forum and thread, and I agree with almost everything said. However, we need to remember to be tough on systems (processes), but easy on people. I totally understand not liking Renlund, but I think this was a good example of being easy on people.

Re: BYU-I Censors Anatomy textbooks
Have you seen the woman's response video to how the professor responded to her original Tik-tok post? She said the professor reached out to her, was very understanding, apologized, will make changes to his lectures, and told her that the videos she posted will have no adverse effects on her standing ...

Re: Guilty confessions
Kinda funny, but I'm the exact opposite. Praise to the Man, brings back deep 'positive' emotions, while Joseph's first prayer is just another hymn to me. The hymns are a confusing part of my faith journey, and I'm sure it's the same for many others.

Re: Ministering Interviews advice
Thank you all for the responses. I greatly appreciate the advice. I love the question Palerider, asking the Brother if there's anything we can do to help your families, instead of the super monotone "Did you visit your families this month?" I will implement it immediately. Morissey, it gives me ...

Ministering Interviews advice
Hello all, I am basically a PIMO mormon, but still attend due to pressure and to keep the peace with the DW. Anyway, I was recently called to be a counselor in the EQ. I didn't want to, but accepted the calling because IMO it's better than a teaching calling where I feel like a total fraud. The ...

Re: “We really want buttery soft fabric”
Just an idea, what are the chances of a grass roots movement for women to design and make their own garment? Any chance that people will start sharing garment patterns that people can make and customize as they want? Do their own cuts, materials, etc. Something with the appropriate marks to qualify ...

Re: Calling Extended
Linked, I feel the same way, and am really struggling with how to turn down my next calling. I'm currently the activity days leader for my sons age group, and it's a fine calling since we just do fun games with the boys. However, it causes me much stress and anxiety as I have never turned down a ...

Re: Should I get a Priesthood blessing?
I'm sorry for your serious medical problems. Eye problems are terrifying. I was in a similar situation recently. I had a few seizures a month ago which has huge potential impacts on my life, career, ability to provide, etc. I'm kind of a closet PIMO. My wife knows how I feel about most things, but I ...

Re: Well, at least here in Michigan...
Up in the PNW we are going back to in-person starting this week as well, full 2 hours. However, they will continue to broadcast it on zoom and if you have a compelling reason to need to take the sacrament at home you have to meet with the Bishop, and he can grant this on a case by case basis.

Re: MIL Innocently Indoctrinating my Kids
I had a situation similar to yours recently. My very TBM MIL was visiting and somehow sucked me into a convo about the church's $100 billion fund. I raised my concerns, and she said in front of my children, "Well, you've always been rebellious." (Raised mormon, seminary, RM, EQP, etc. but I don't ...
