IMO, Pelosi meant there were a LOT of Nazi or anti-Semitic symbols, tattoos, t-shirts, signs, etc., on display during the protest, then riot/insurrection.

Re: Graceful Transfer of Power
Two points. First, The BLM people were protesters. These people Who violated the US Capitol Building on January 6 were terrorists. They fit every element of the crime as listed in the Federal Code of Regulations. Second, I have labeled the current president with many different labels, Genghis Can't ...

Re: Graceful Transfer of Power
People are just going to support their president. Nothing to be nervous about. Sort of like a painless root canal or blitzkrieg? The Proud Boys will be toting assault rifles in the Nation's Capitol and they are looking toward committing the biggest voter fraud ever in dismantling the American ...

Re: Mr. and Mrs. Græy's Stuff
...A secondary concern is how intertwined our lives are with the bishops, high-councilmen, and stake presidency members of our area - they aren't part of our social circle, they ARE our social circle. Thanks, again. I'm sure you've already heard this from other sources, but I am here to tell you ...

Re: Church and Politics
...My father-in-law came to this country from China with nothing. He worked 18 hour days, 7-day weeks for years in the face of nonstop oppression and bigotry. ...Sorry, kinda went off on a tangent there, but this is something that is very close to my heart. (BTW I am so Scandinavian I get sunburn ...

Jana Riess nails the reason my full tithe isn't to LDS
Here's the full Salt Lake Tribune opinion piece in case you don't subscribe. Thoughts? Jana Riess: Why I stopped paying tithing to the LDS Church At tithing settlement this year, the Religion News Service columnist declared herself a full-tithe payer and explained why none of that money has gone to ...

Re: Keeping up with Trump
Trump didn't make anybody racist. You're absolutely right. He merely seized the opportunity to fan the flames to his own benefit. He played them like a cheap fiddle. Trump used to be quite liberal until he realized that he could put on a new suit of clothes that would stir up a wave of devotion to ...

Re: Ensign is now the Liahona?
The Liahona as pointer to the correct path was a very big deal in my Primary and MIA instruction all those centuries ago.

But being a victim's advocate doesn't pay! By being just the former, Kirton McConkie gets paid VERY well in the coin of the realm and in a great retirement plan both, don't cha know.

Re: Happy Solstice!
Sounds so fun! Have you ever celebrated any other days in the wheel of the year? Not really, although equinox is my favorite word. I have a friend whose family celebrates Catherine of Aragon beheading day in February because they think we need a holiday at that time of year but they don't like ...

Re: Has anyone done a list of Joseph's wives and those who lived with him?
The following Huffington Post article lists all of Joseph Smith's wives, gives a paragraph about them, and explains whether they were already married to a living husband, whether they were sisters with other of Joseph Smith's wives, or whether they were still teenagers. Joseph Smith would have been ...

Re: Happy Solstice!
I used to decorate a Solstice tree instead of a Christmas tree, and we did a solstice ceremony that involved precursor origins of modern Christmas traditions. Great fun. Gotta put the soul cakes on the hearth to appease the ancient spirits that will be coming down the chimney, you know. Sounds so ...

Changes to LDS Handbook 2020
I am so unplugged from the LDS church now that I didn't know about the extensive changes that were made to the LDS handbook until I was reading this Salt Lake Tribune article. I would be interested in your impressions. I'll comment along with each of you. I'm including the entire article, in case ...

Re: Graceful Transfer of Power
Has anyone been following the "martial law" ideas being floated around the White House by Trump, Sidney Powell, Mike Flynn, and the former Mormon head of Overstock.com? Giuliani has even asked Homeland Security if they can commandeer the voting machines. Pretty wild stuff. Yes I have. And I am ...
