Re: Status updates?
In-person sacrament meetings are optional in my stake, and all other meetings are online. I've been a primary teacher for almost 5 years now, so it's been nice not having to think about my church obligations for almost a year now. However, once we start to meet in-person for the 2nd hour I am going ...

Re: Nelson Gets Vaccinated
I'm happy to see that he got vaccinated as early as possible. I fully believe in the power of vaccination, but I also hope that he remains healthy following both doses. Can you imagine the response of members if his health were to deteriorate immediately?

4. Introduce the church membership to Coffee! It’s OK for the members who already drink coffee to pretend to be super excited. I knew something was off about this WoW doctrine when a friend of mine asked why I drank sugar free Monsters but not coffee, especially considering how much worse energy d ...

Re: Finally, a prophetic message that will fix everything!
I respect the experience that Nelson and Oaks have, both as a revered surgeon and lawyer, respectively. Their counsel on actually following CDC guidelines (wearing a mask, etc) and embracing "black lives matter" was nice to hear from apostles. So what boggles my mind is the fact that the church ...

Re: BOM and LOTR (Lord of the Rings)
Interesting comparison, I should start reading the BOM again as though it were a fantasy novel
And refer to it as "The Book of Mordor"

Thank you wtfluff and linked! Red Ryder, I'm a big fan of Tool and '80s Metallica. SOAD lyrics are great too. I will never listen to Empty Walls the same way ever again lol, very interesting application of the lyrics! I'm into a lot of progressive, experimental, and atmospheric metal bands. That's ...

Hello and thank you! I'm down for any of the nicknames other than "El Chi Chi" since that is slang for "the breast" Awesome, it's always satisfying to encounter another online metal music fan. Any particular bands you're a big fan of? It's interesting that you say that, I find that most metal ...

Re: Letters to the Slackers
As a teenager in the YM program and as a missionary I always wondered why some people were so hostile towards those who would reach out to them despite being on a "do not contact" list. Now I relate to these hostile individuals so much, it's quite funny  Mormons are a persistent bunch!

Thank you, Hagoth! I already feel at home here just based off the 2 responses.
I'm not sure how I would label myself. I honestly feel like I'm directly in the middle of "believing" and "non-believing". It's a constant self-discovery and self-analysis.

Thank you græy! (I also had to copy and paste your name since I don't know how else to do the "æ") Chihuahua would work fine on its own. That's interesting, as my wife and I are also trending in opposite directions with spiritual matters but we agree on the political side of things. At times, our d ...
